Google into Cricket?!

Monday, March 12th, 2007

I was very pleasantly surprised this morning to discover the Google logo celebrating the start of the Cricket World Cup:

Not only this, but this weeks Time magazine has a brief article encouraging American’s to use the World Cup as a chance to get a feel for the game.
Here’s to cricket!
Other exciting news on the sporting […]

England 42 Scotland 20

Saturday, February 3rd, 2007

Well, I am starting to feel a bit better, still some way from 100% though. But seeing the England result is definitely making me feel much better. Nothing like giving the Scots a good kicking!

What Would Jesus Do? Maybe take a few tips from Tom Lehman

Saturday, September 23rd, 2006

Another interesting article in today’s Guardian newspaper, this time on the strong Christian element to the US Ryder Cup team:
Tom Lehman, as Sam Torrance famously remarked at another Ryder Cup, calls himself a man of God.
It was the American’s part in his countrymen’s enchanting victory charge across the 17th green at Brookline in 1999 that […]

We’re go with the Ryder Cup!

Friday, September 22nd, 2006

I’ve been driving quite a bit this morning and so have been able to listen to the first few holes of The Ryder Cup - one of golf’s biggest tournaments. I love the Ryder Cup. It turns a highly individualistic sport into an amazing team competition. There seems to be and edge to it that […]

Gutted

Saturday, July 1st, 2006

Well it’s all over. England lost in the quarter-finals for the third successive major tournament. And it was on penalties. Again. There was a certain inevitability that it’d go to penalties from very early in the game. It was a shame that we saved some of our best football for when we were a man […]

I feel like shooting most English journalists

Monday, June 26th, 2006

Ok, maybe that title is a little dramatic, but reading the reports of England’s 1-0 win over Equador yesterday are just so depressing. The media seem determined to tear England apart rather than accurately report the match. Don’t get me wrong, there was nothing amazing about England’s performance yesterday, but neither did we look like […]

England vs. Brazil (very funny!)

Thursday, June 22nd, 2006

It is just before the England v Brazil match. Ronaldinho goes into the Brazilian changing room to find all his team-mates looking a bit glum.
“What’s up?” he asks.

“Well, we’re having trouble getting motivated for this game. We know it’s important but it’s only England. They’re **** and we can’t be bothered.”
Ronaldinho looks at them and says, […]

The countdown begins…England vs. Sweden

Tuesday, June 20th, 2006

It’s now just 8 hours until England play one of our bogey teams - Sweden - in our third group match of the World Cup. We haven’t beaten them for 800 years (approximately) - ok, really “just” 38 - and even having a Swedish coach hasn’t helped our cause. Let’s hope we put an end […]

Go USA!

Sunday, June 18th, 2006

What a good result for the USA today. Who’d of thought they’d get a draw against Italy after their dismal performance against the Czech Republic? Well here’s a picture of Rachel expressing her support for the USA during the game…I hope our American readers appreciate that!!
