Heading for LA

Yes, in exactly four weeks I’m going to be flying to Los Angeles for a week. My main reason for going is that I am going to be doing two days of training with the Gallup organisation that will officially certify me as a Strengths coach (linked with the Gallup StrengthsFinder assessment). I’m really excited about this. I love helping people discover their strengths and see how they can utilise them more in their everyday lives. It’s something that definitely energises me and makes me come alive. And the opportunity for this training is something that I can’t wait for.

Because Mosaic LA are coordinating this training with Gallup, the timing of it means that I’m going to be able to get along to Origins and Ethos as well. It’ll be great to be able to be part of that whole experience again. My Australian friend Russ has very kindly said I can stay with him whilst I’m over which should be a lot of fun too. I might have to hope if the Cricket World Cup final ends up being England vs. Australia that England ends up losing…otherwise he may change his mind and not have me any more!!

The only downer on this whole trip is that it’ll just be me going. It’s going to be way too expensive for both me and Rachel to make it over, so I’ll be travelling alone. We’ve never been apart for more than one night since we’ve been married, so that’ll be a whole new experience as well.

It should be a great trip though and I’m really looking forward to it!

Hi Josh, I’ll look forward to meeting you too! So do you work with Dave Elmore? I spent a week with him as part of the International Mentoring Network last year.

Two years ago did you ever dream you would travel so much to the U.S.? Glad you are getting to go!

dave’s my boss! that’s very cool — i wish i could make it out for the whole origins/ethos week, but i don’t think we’ll be able to swing the money… LOVED it last year.

    Hi Sam,

I look forward to hearing more about what the training involves. I’m using StrengthsFinder at the moment as part of helping people to identify their Godpurpose. I think I’ve taken around forty people through it so I’m excited that such a posibility is available.

Hey Sam, have a super time, looking forward to your learnings! it’ll be another year i’ve wanted to go, but can’t. Every year i don’t go, makes it more of a must the next year though.
