Google into Cricket?!
I was very pleasantly surprised this morning to discover the Google logo celebrating the start of the Cricket World Cup:

Not only this, but this weeks Time magazine has a brief article encouraging American’s to use the World Cup as a chance to get a feel for the game.
Here’s to cricket!
Other exciting news on the sporting front was a great Engand win over the French at rugby. All the better for everyone (including me) expecting us to lose!
Make sure you check out my earlier post on the new Apple ads.

It was good to see England Win at the Weekend especially after the drubbing they got from the Irish, I doubt the Irish Cricket Team will do as well at the cricket world cup mind you a butcher baker and hurly stick maker isnt exactly a world class batting order

I guess I’ll have to look into where we can watch the world cup of cricket…I usually cheer for India in cricket…only because a couple of my friends play…in California…not for India.
And I don’t know anyone from England who plays…do you play?
And can women play cricket? Maybe I should start a club????

For once, as an Irish man, I was cheering whole heartedly for the English in the rugby. I have to admit, it felt a bit strange…thankfully it doesn’t happen that often.
The Irish cricket team have actually looked pretty decent in the warm up games. They took South Africa close. Watch this space!
Anyway, as in most sports that have originated in England, it will probably be a once-oppressed colony that will win.

Who’d of thought…two Irish guys cheering for the English!
I wouldn’t be holding your breath guys when it comes to the Irish cricket team. Something just doesn’t even feel right with mentioning Irish and Cricket in the same sentence!!

I remember a guy at school trying to play this weird game with a bat and ball, I think he called it Cricket (thought that was an insect) anyway he went to catch the ball as it dropped out of the air, he put up his hands above his head, made a cup shape and the ball dropped right through his hands and hit him square in the middle of the forehead knocking him on his backside to the floor, that was the last he mentioned the game of cricket so definately not a major or minor sport were I came from, it did have one use though I used to love watching it on telly especially around exams time, in fact it only ever seemed to be interesting around exam time!!!!
lol

Here’s the only Irish joke I know …
An Irishman walks out of a bar.

Go the boys in green! So close to a win (and a defeat!)…but a tie will do.

Dean - forgot to show my appreciation of your Irish joke!

Ok….so what can I say about Irish cricket?
Not bad for a ‘a butcher baker and hurly stick maker’!
I’ll resist the ‘I told you so’…
Pity about the rugby…although it was an amusing day. Wales?

All I can say to the Irish cricket team is “WOW”! Our lot are just out drinking so I’m not expecting much!!
As to the rugby, watching England at the moment is so frustrating. The inconsistency is infuriating!
