A REALLY bad day
Yesterday was a day which went from bad to worse. It started off with me spilling some tea on my laptop whilst I was at work. Not a lot got on it but it won’t power up at all now. Sony are coming to my offices to fix it tomorrow. I hope everything’s ok as I hate being without my computer. So much of what I do revolves around it, and the crummy, old, slow one I’m temporarily using right now is already driving me mad.
Anyway, that was nothing compared to what happened later. I got home about 6pm as usual and then got a text from Rachel around 6.20pm saying she was just leaving work after getting our mortgage application finalised. Twenty minutes later though I got a really panicky call from her saying she’d just had a car crash. The car about 5 in front had pulled off the road suddenly and everyone in front slammed on their breaks but Rachel wasn’t quite quick enough. She smashed into the car in front before going into a full spin and having to watch as the car behind then came slamming into her too.
She is ok but was very shaken and in shock. We went to A&E as a precaution but it’s just aches and pains. No one else was seriously hurt, though the girl who came into Rachel did have to go off in an ambulance as she’d banged her head. I’m just glad she’s ok. It could have been so much worse and I’m sure that God is the key factor in her walking away from a 50-60mph crash like that unharmed.
Sadly, Rachel’s new car did not come out of it nearly as well as she did.

oh my that is a very very bad day. I’ve poured hot apple cider on my wife’s laptop… and it’s slowly dying. Laptops are expendible though as important as they are, I’m glad to hear Rachel’s doing okay, that is scary stuff!
It’s absolutely amazing how quickly our worlds can get turned upside down. I pray all goes well moving forward…

Ouch! How is she today?
What are the laws there as far as crashes go? Here if you crash into the back of someone it is usually your fault.
Hope she feels better and thankful that no one was hurt.

Thanks for all the comments guys! She’s doing ok today…she had a spa day booked in anyway which worked out very well!
It will go down as her fault. Thankfully it was the leased car she gets through the National Health Service rather than the one we own so that - hopefully - will makes things a little less complicated (providing it can be repaired).

Poor thing! Of course they never blame the person who starts the trouble in the first place on the insurance reports. :-\ I’m glad to hear that she is well, though. Thank God for that. Sounds like it could’ve been quite nasty.
What’s an A&E? In the states it is a Cable channel (Arts and Entertainment). Sounds like it’s your version of an Emergency Room or an Urgent Care center?

Yeah, A&E stands for Accident and Emergency.

Thanks everyone. I’m feeling much less shaken up, just walking a bit like a mummy and have bruises appearing on my knees from where they hit the steering column! I definitely think I’m getting better quicker than Sam’s laptop though… and my car.
I appreciate your thoughts and prayers. And thanks Sam for being calm and collected and dealing with a hysterical, incoherent, crazy-from-shock wife! I love you very much and appreciate life and you much more than I did yesterday.
