A conference, an anniversary, and new team members!
It’s been a lovely long weekend just gone as Rachel and I both had Friday and Monday off work to attend a conference and celebrate our two year wedding anniverary.
We borrowed Rachel’s parents caravan and went to a campsite just outside of Lincoln, about 7 miles from where the conference was taking place. Having got used to much more luxurious holiday accomodation of late, I wasn’t too sure about staying in a caravan, but it actually wasn’t too bad!
Grapevine
The conference we were attending was called Grapevine and is linked with a network of churches called the Ground Level Network. There were over 12,000 people in attendance - it’s biggest gathering so far since it started 25 years ago. We are weighing up the possibility of connecting to the Ground Level Network and so we though we’d check out their conference. We had a really good time. The speakers at the main sessions were really good. Andy Hawthorne and Jeff Lucas in particular were dead on the mark.
There was also one guy speaking who flows really naturally in the miraculous and we saw some amazing miracles. It was beautiful to see a lady in her 80’s removing her hearing aids because she could now hear perfectly! She’d been partially deaf since she was 5. I love it when God does the impossible like that!
Wedding Anniversary
Sunday was our actual wedding anniversary and we had a fabulous meal out together. It was great too to talk about where we’d come this last year and also to dream somewhat into the future. I feel so blessed to have Rachel as my wife. She is definitely a gift from God! It has been such a wonderful - and fun - last two years and yet I so know that the best is yet to come!
Exciting news!
One other bit of news that we’re really excited about is that we have a couple called Ryan and Emily getting involved with our core team at Mosaic. This really feels like an answer to prayer and we’re excited about what they’re going to add to us. Ryan is American by birth but then came to his senses, moved to England to study, and then married and English girl! Emily has come from a Christian family background, whilst Ryan started following Christ during university here in Sheffield some years back. They are both enthusiastic people who passionately want to see their friends come to know Christ and be part of something that creates environments that are relevant to those people. It’s great to have them on board!
Ok, I’ll shut up now. That’s quite a long post - I hope you made it to the end!

It’s about time you treated that girl to more than just a Pizza!
Great post we don’t talk often enough about how much we appreciate others and the blessing they are in our lives.
