Time for a catch up
Well after pretty much posting every day since being over here in Southern California, I have been getting a bit slack at the old updates. Please accept my apologies! We’ve been having a great few days though. (Do we really have to go back home soon?!) On Thursday we got to hang out all day with Steve, Deana, and Max. We had a lot of fun and it was so good to spend some physical time together having built our friendship until now entirely in cyberspace. We’re already looking forward to them visiting us in England later this year. Thanks for coming to stay with us guys…you’re great!
Friday was our first day at the International Mentoring Network (IMN). It was amazing meeting up with people we’d met in some of the online classes face to face and having that strange feeling that you really know someone even though it’s the first time your meeting them. The training that day was built around a leadership / disipleship tool called the Character Matrix and about helping to lead/guide people through character transformation. It was really good and definitely something we’ll be looking to utilise back in Sheffield.
Friday evening a group of us set off to go and see the Da Vinci code but unfortunatly we couldn’t get any seats. The upside being that we got to eat at a great Japanese restaurant which I’ve never eaten in before. It was cool…we had a personal chef who cooked everything in front of us (as well as trying hard to set us all on fire I think).
Yesterday was another really good day with the IMN. Joe Dworak who I’d done an online course on strenghs with was leading the day on tool called Strengths Finder. This is a powerful tool that helps people discover their strengths and help, guide, and empower them to live their live from those strengths. I love this tool and can’t wait to help guide people through it when we get back.
Joe was another person who it was so good to meet face to face having done the online course with him and interacted some what via our blogs. We sat next to him for dinner when Alex took as all out to this amazing Brazilian restaurant. (I think my prediction about coming home a stone heavier might be about right!)
Enough words…here are a few pictures from the last couple of days:

It looks like you are having an incredible time! As it turns out, I was in Los Angeles last weekend with you! That’s OK, turns out I’ll be there next time you visit, too! I’m moving there! Enjoy your time!
