Everyone drives on the wrong side
It was a long day, but we’re finally here in Southern California. I was awake from about 5am UK time through to 10pm PST (25 hours), so was pretty tired. It’s only 7am now but I’m wide awake. I was also wide awake at 3.30am for about an hour. I guess that’s jet lag for you. Rachel seems to have done much better on the sleeping front.
Picking up the hire car and then driving down to Newport Coast was a fun experience. The combination of having been travelling for so long an then having to adust to driving on the other side of the road was definitely a challenge. We made it with no scapes or bangs though!
We’re really looking forward to today. Our friends Dean and Tina are coming down to spend the day with us. We went down to seem them when they were in London in January where we met for the first time and, having got on so well, can’t wait to hang out with them again. They are also taking us to see the Ashes and Snow nomadic photographic exhibit in Santa Monica which, going on their website, looks amazing.
You can check out Rachel’s blog for pictures from yesterday.

We drive on the RIGHT side…just remember that…right side of the road is the right way to drive! Easy to remember isn’t it?
Hope you guys have fun today!

Hey Sam,
It was great to meet you, I had such a great time last night with everyone. I hope you enjoyed Ashes and Snow…i think i am still amazed by the architecture of that exhibit. I know i was not able to talk much to both you and Rachel last night, but hopefully i will be meeting up with you again at the Origins conference. I hope you have an awesome time here.

Deana - well we drive from the “right” side of the car - so there!
Niza - we can’t wait to meet you in person too.
Staci - was so cool to meet you face to face after seeing you around in the blogosphere for so long!
Kunal - it was great to meet you too! And I’m definitely hoping that we get to hang out a bit more during Origins. Oh, and I LOVED Ashes and Snow!
