New voxscape…NOW AVAILABLE!
This is a new scape I’ve been working on which will soon be available for all VOX users with a choice of 5 different header backgrounds on this colour scheme (not including this one).
What do you think?
UPDATE: This is now available for all VOX users with a selection of 6 different headers. If you login to your VOX and go to “Look and Feel” and select “Purple Mist” you will be able to activate the scape. To choose from the different headers, select the option called “Current VOXSCAPE Options” (next to where it says “VOXSCAPES”).
PS The profile picture isn’t yet available accross all VOX’s, but will be very soon.

It’s pretty nice. A good alternative for the people who didn’t want the black.

yeah mate, it’s a good one, love the clashing rhinos!

Yeah, the picture of the elephants was taken on our honeymoon in South Africa. We didn’t even use a zoom for that pic…we were that close!

By the way, this voxscape is still in need of a name…any suggestions anyone?

Name suggestion: something with the word “heather” in it; appropos both of the color and the countryside around the city where you are from.

Name: African Dreams

Looks to me like a morning mist or fog…purple mist…purple twilight…lavender hills…fields at dawn…
You know it’s easier to brainstorm over IM isn’t it??? Those are just some ideas. Hope you and Rach are having a good day.

Don’t you hate it when you write a reply and then press the wrong thing and lose it all?!! (That’s what I just did in case you’re wondering!)
Because all of the pictures on the other headers aren’t African based, the African Dreams won’t work unfortunately, Tina. I do want to design an entirely African themed voxscape though so I might save you’re idea for then!
I like your thoughts, Deana. I’d been thinking of something along the lines of “Purple Haze”.
To give you an idea of some of the other headers, here are their titles:
Funky Roof
African Dancers
Grand Entrance
Barcelona Skyline
Crocodile
Sunrise
The common feature with all the pictures is the purple effect/filter.
Thanks for your thoughts so far!

Purple Haze…isn’t that a Jimi Hendrix song? I thought of that too and then thought…no that is a name of something already. I like it though.
April 3rd, 2006 at 9:23 pm
I didn’t think of that. Maybe your “purple mist” is making its way to the top at the moment then.

it also makes me think of an electric storm…like a summer storm where lightning fills the sky!

Hey Sam… noticed your comment on my vox blog. Thanks for asking how we\’re doing. We\’re doing pretty well. Just very busy. I\’m blogging fairly actively out on blogger again. http://allentexas.blogspot.com/ Come back to visit there when you get a chance. I\’ve been picking up memorizing Romans 8:1-17 again the last couple of weeks. Did you finish memorizing it? How is Mosaic Sheffield coming along?

Are they fighting or kissing!? I vote Fuschia Fight or Purple Passion.

Now that I see an alternate version on Alex’ blog, I really like it. I wasn’t a big fan of the header font on yours or the inverted colors, but the general color scheme is looking good. Keep up the good work.
April 5th, 2006 at 6:10 pm
And here I thought the Jimi Hendrix reference was intentional.
Oooh, I love the one currently on Alex’s. I love words, so here’s some name-brainstorming for you.
Possible variations on “Purple”:
Amethyst
Mauve
Violet
Heather
Lavendar
Lilac
Orchid
Dusk
Stormy
Grape
Wine
Plum
Raisin
Mulberry
Possible variations on “Haze”:
Mist
Glaze
Gauze
Screen
Fog
Chiffon
Storm
Cloud
Film
Smoke
Murk
Don’t limit yourself to one word from each list! Think about combinations where both words are from one list, or about using just one word.
Some of my favorite combinations:
Amethyst Fog
Glazed Raisin
Heather Mist
Mulberry Wine
Foggy Dusk
Have fun!

Good stuff. Thanks for your hard work on this.
April 5th, 2006 at 7:37 pm
Awesome, thanks!

Mystic Mauve?
Warrior Pastel?
Barbarian Berry?
Ok. Maybe I’m being a little silly. Seriously though I really appreciate the work you’re doing to the rest of us voxer’s more variety.
Hey Sam… you and Rachel should follow up your successful radio interview with a submission to Cafe of the Dead!
Cheers,
Greg
