Sam, I recently discovered what keeps me spiritually vibrant. What connects me to God. After trying all the suggested methods of "quiet time" and being utterly disappointed with their inability to hold my attention I have realized that I need my books. My commentaries, my "heady" reference books. Study. That is how I best spend time with God. Since this discovery I find that those things I've always been told I should be doing come much more naturally. I pray more. I write more. I just break out into conversation with God in the middle of my day. Study is time consuming, but it feeds my soul.
